Bit.com's Management Team
A passionate pioneer in China’s nascent blockchain industry, Jihan set up China’s first bitcoin community site, Babite, and was the first to translate Satoshi Nakamoto's whitepaper for Bitcoin into Mandarin in 2011. He was recognized in 2018 by Fortune magazine’s “40 young people under 40” as being on the leading edge of fintech and transforming business.
Jihan established Matrixport in 2019, his second adventure, having earlier co-founded mining chip giant Bitmain Technologies and leaving the company in 2021.
John is focused on rapidly scaling the company to provide one-stop crypto financial services, across custody, spot and leveraged trading, asset management, and lending. Under his leadership, Matrixport has grown into Asia’s largest cryptocurrency financial platform with $10 billion of assets under management.
John was previously a Company Director and Head of Investment & Financing at Bitmain Technologies. He started his career as an analyst at a venture capital fund.
Chief Operating Officer
Lan Yue, better known as Blue, is the Chief Operating Officer at bit.com and an industry veteran who has previously worked at Bitmain, CITIC Bank, and Yipay. He spearheads bit.com's strategic direction, which includes business growth, product development, and operations. Blue is the co-founder of bit.com and part of the Matrixport founding team, where he helped design the first structured digital currency product, dual-currency wealth management.
Chief Marketing Officer
Toya is a seasoned marketing and communications specialist with a background in technology, finance, and blockchain. Since her first foray into the cryptocurrency industry, Toya has assisted notable cryptocurrency startups in raising tens of millions of dollars. Toya began her career at Elliott, Barings, Latham & Watkins, HKVCA, and Huawei before transitioning into the crypto and blockchain space in 2016 with OKX and subsequently joined AAX as Deputy COO, where she helped the exchange achieve unprecedented heights. Apart from diving into the world of crypto, Toya is an avid underwater diver and an accomplished percussionist.
Global Head of Institutional Sales
Justin Buitendam is the Global Head of Institutional Sales for Matrixport and Bit.com. Justin is located in Australia and is in charge of driving company growth as well as collaborating with Matrixport’s worldwide ecosystem to establish commercial strategies and engagements. Justin has over two decades of derivatives trading expertise and has held senior trading and portfolio management positions at Macquarie Bank, Transmarket Group, RKR Capital, and Refco. When Justin is not researching crypto, he enjoys playing poker, watching soccer, and Formula 1.
